Living by faith
We live by faith, not by sight.2 Cor. 5:7
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3 3:8-9
Dear Jesus,
I can’t hardly wait to see you! Of course, I know that my human eyes would be blinded immediately by the sheer sight of you, but still, I would love to get a glimpse of your glorious splendour! Lord, you know that it is hard for us, human beings, to believe without seeing. We always ask for some visual proof - just like your good friend Thomas did. You made a special comeback just to convince him that you really paid the ultimate price for all of us and that you really are the risen Christ! I also remember your words when you told Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." I guess you were talking about me and my brothers and sisters who are living by faith today. We have seen your glory with the eyes of our heart, with the eyes of faith! We do acknowledge you as our Lord and God and we do trust you completely. That is why we know that you are with us, ALWAYS. And yes, you will also keep all other promises, so we are expecting you to make another spectacular comeback, just for us!
Thank you for being patient with us. Thank you for giving us some extra time to share the Good News with all those people who haven’t heard about you yet. We, your children, will follow your instructions here on earth until that day that we will see you coming with the clouds of heaven. Yes! Every eye will see you, every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess that you are Lord!
But in the meantime... please give me strength to carry on, trusting you all the way, because the eyes of my heart have seen your glory.
